Program Assessment Specialist — ext. 312
Angela Ortiz, Program Assessment Specialist has been in the field for more than ten years. Before coming to RIAEYC/BrightStars, Angela taught summer classes to second and third graders in Easton, Massachusetts and worked for City Year Boston employed in the Boston Public School system to help keep children in school and on track. Angela is passionate about the importance of access to quality education for all children and works on the RIAEYC communications team to help spread this message. Angela has achieved author-level reliability on the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale - Revised (ECERS-R) and the Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale - Revised (ITERS-R). In addition, Angela has also achieved reliability on both the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale - Revised (FCCERS-R) and the School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale- Updated (SACERS-U).
Angela holds a Master of Science degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
