RI Early Childhood Conference and Professional Development Opportunities

RI Early Childhood Conference 2017
Saturday, December 2, 2017, 9am-3pm
Sheraton Airport, Warwick

You are required to select ONE track to follow for the day. Please read the descriptions in each track and select the track that best fits your own Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).  Sessions have been aligned with the Workforce Knowledge and Competencies and they address areas of interest and growth for RI’s Early Childhood Education community.

Note: Some sessions will be restricted in size, so register early!

TRACK ONE: Karen Nemeth: A Day of Focus on Supporting Language and Cultural Diversity in Young Children Birth - Age 5 (appropriate for all early childhoood professionals)

TRACK TWO: Ronna Schaffer: Essential Program Practices for Relationship-Based Care: A training for Infant/Toddler Providers (appropriate for infant and toddler teachers, teacher assistants and administrators with infant and toddler classrooms)

TRACK THREE: Marcela Simpson: Inventar para aprender: Utilizando el concepto Tinkering (appropriate for Spanish-speaking family child care providers or center-based staff)

TRACK FOUR: Building Advocacy in the Early Childhood Workforce (appropriate for all early childhoood professionals)

$35 for Students/RIAEYC Student Members
$45 for NAEYC/RIAEYC Members
$55 for Non Members

All participants will receive Certificates of Attendance. Participants who attend the full day of the conference will receive six (6) hours of Approved PD. Certificates will be distributed at the conclusion of the conference.

RI Early Childhood Conference Leadership Reception
Friday, December 1, 2017 6-9pm
Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel

Join us for dinner! This special Leadership Reception brings together early childhood leaders from around the state to celebrate and commemorate the work and advocacy of the profession. Highlighted during the evening will be NAEYC Accredited Programs in Rhode Island with a special gift, and the Sue Connor Special Friend of RI's Children Awards.

Keynote presentation by Stacie Goffin, Principal of the Goffin Strategy Group, LLC. Established in 2004, the Goffin Strategy Group dedicates itself to building early childhood education's capacity to offer effective programs and services to young children through leadership, capacity, and systems development. Stacie works with state and local non-profits and governments, national organizations, and philanthropy. A widely published author, Stacie’s conceptual leadership focuses on advancing early childhood education as a professional field of practice.
